Regarding the issue of high resource usage by the smbrichacl process, we will fix it in a future TOS version. If you are experiencing this problem, you can contact the technical support team for remote assistance or to obtain a temporary solution.

I'm new to Terramaster (also have Qnap & Synology Nas units (and Netgear in past) but I too am having a problem with UPS on a T12-500. As mentioned i am also unable to enable a USB UPS (Powerwalker compatible on list) as the error message to supply an IP address blocks it. I used Chat to discuss with support and they said the UPS being connected should work as its recognised by the T12 without needing enabling. With over 40 years of IT experience behind me I don't blindly accept such statements so told them I would hold them accountable if wrong, gritted my teeth and tested.

UPS not enabled in TOS but connected with USB, pulled mains plug, Tnas immediately said UPS was on battery and would shutdown after the specified time (which due to not being able to enable, unable to specify time! but at least confirms connection). After 25 minutes UPS started beeping low battery warning, no further response from T12. At 30 minutes UPS ran out of power and shutdown, effectively dumping T12 on the roadside!! (it survived).

I tried using the cheat of dummy IP address but it wouldn't accept it. Also, has this been tested, as if the Tnas is looking for an IP notification to shut down it may do the same as mine and simply dump the Tnas due to notification not received?

I have over 600,000 documents to protect, and yes I have multiple backups in place, but a PITA to reinstall OS, file structure, files, not to mention the possible damage to the T12 and drives.

Your issue seems unrelated to the 6.0.650 update. Compatibility issues with UPS devices are not uncommon and can be related to communication protocols, firmware versions, interface types, etc.
If you confirm that your UPS is incompatible with the NAS, you may consider referring to a compatibility list to choose an appropriate UPS.

Could you explain that a little more - screen shot would help.
As far as I know IP address only applies when trying to configure Tnas to communicate with another Tnas device already configured as "network ups server" or to an snmp server. (In which case the configured device needs the IP addresses of all the Tnas devices that will be communicating with it as well.)
With direct connection to ups by usb cable, the detection should be automatic (as "USB UPS").
{Might help if you specified the exact model of ups}

edit:
FYI: this is what my nas configured as UPS Server looks like:

One bug to report also, after the reinstall, my crontab is not persistant.

Everytime I reboot the device, my crontab -e is empty, and I need to reenter the entries.

Try using the TOS built-in scheduled task manager. They do remain persistent.

Thx, will work for now, but I would like to use the crontab, because of more flexibility with scripts.

Can you describe the 'bug' you mentioned? Do you think it is related to version TOS6.0.650?
We have received very few similar reports, so it might be caused by other issues.
You can contact technical support or customer service, or discuss the issues you've encountered in the relevant section.
