Coppermine Use Existing Photos Share

Hi there. Does anyone know if there is a way to modify Coppermine config to simply find, and use my existing share of Photos? I have tens of thousands of photos that I've already uploaded to my NAS, and was hoping there was some way I could configure Coppermine to catalog them, rather than having to re-upload them into new albums (essentially creating duplicate files).

... and if that doesn't make sense, which its starting to seem like it doesn't to me... are there any other options for photo management and cataloguing that I can use?
