Erro on updating BIOS

Post by ironozzyman »

Hey, how are u doing?

My brother give me that F2-221 as a gift and i was very excited to have my first terramaster Nas.

I start to read some forum posts about uptading the TOS.

First i updated to 5.0 and saw my partition has only 2gb, so i erased my HD at windows and installed 5.1 TO from scratch.

After that system wont auto update to 6.0.

So i started to read this topic viewtopic.php?t=6809&sid=0e6c2de248a396 ... &start=230.

I tryed to update the Bios as people posted in this topic and after that things went bad.

I followed those instructions with bios MAPL0303V21. I putted the files in a USBDisk but i forgot to take out the USB Boot Stick inside the NAS.

I plugged a monitor with HDMI, a keyboard and the USB disk on NAS.

I also didnt pressed "ESC" to join Bios menu. But anyway the bios started to do a thing. bios started to show me msgs like:

"erasing flash blocks"
"programming flash blocks"

After that, NAS restart and never turn on again. I cannot join bios again, even with HDMI and a keyboard. The system doesnt start, dont give me any beep aanymore. Lan leds light doesnt turn on.

Pls help me, im very sad!

Hello, thank you for contacting TerraMaster!
We recommend that you try clearing the CMOS to see if the issue is resolved. Please disassemble your TNAS and follow these steps to clear the CMOS on the battery:
1. Unscrew the screws on the back of the unit and remove the motherboard.
2. Take out the battery.
3. Use a metal tool, such as tweezers, to short-circuit the two terminals of the battery for about 5-10 seconds.
4. Reinsert the battery.
5. Reassemble the device, install your hard drives, and then power on the device.

I need to do that with the NAS connected to the power? Or it must be off?

Hey i tryed it already, but the bios is corrupted after the error trying on update the Bios.

I contacted a Techincal Service to re-write the EPROM chip of the NAS. But they will need the correct bios file to do it.

Can u point or send pls, the correct and last updated BIOS file from F2-221 for a EPROM re-write?

Thank u!

We do not preset a username and password for TOS. When you install and initialize TOS, the system will prompt you to create a username and password after installation is complete. Have you completed this step? Please enter the username and password you created during initialization.
