Adding a Drive to TRAID

Post by jemlinus »

Hi,

I added a 12TB drive to existing 2x 14TB and 1x 12TB TRAID setup in F4-424 NAS.

It went through 2 days of Synchronization, but it won't expand the drive space that is available.

Is there an extra step that i need to go through?

Thanks.

Hi, everything seems correct to me. If you do a hard disk calculation in TRAID you should find your final values with the formatted hard disks.
From the Terramaster website you can calculate your TRAID directly:

The capacity has increased to 34.53TB but allocated didn't. So available space is only at 23.63TB.

I'm not sure if I need to go through an extra step to get full 34 TB.

Have you modified the volume size in control panel? Extra capacity in Storage Pool could either be used to expand existing volumes or to create additional volumes, on the same pool, for different purposes.
F5-221 TOS7.0.0777 - 4x4TB (Ironwolf) Traid
F2-424 TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (HGST) Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.0777 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Btrfs
F2-425+ TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (EXOS) Traid

Thank you Gremlin.

You are correct. I didn't think that was an option. Assume it will be done automatically since I pick the option to add to the pool.
