TFM not working with Cloud Folders?

TFM Backup is the abbreviation of TerraMaster Folder Mirror backup. TFM Backup is a dedicated backup tool for TNAS shared folders developed by TerraMaster.

TFM not working with Cloud Folders?

Post by magnus4ever »

Basically what the title says.

Under TOS6, you can add individual remote folders through a Cloud connection (in my case OneDrive).

I wanted to use TFM to mirror the source folder (OneDrive) to a local Share on a Volume for Backup. However, the TFM task aborts and logfile says "Source Folder does not exist".

However, manual copy works .

Am I missing something?

Hello! The TFM feature is limited to backing up between shared folders within the current TNAS. Based on your needs, we recommend the DupleBackup app, which not only allows you to back up TNAS shared folders to OneDrive but also enables mutual backups between two TNAS devices.

it seems to work fine in reverse though in TFM, it can sync from NAS to One Drive, but yes seems to struggle to use one drive as its source it spends a lot of time calculating but then finds 0 files, at least in my tests

Found a solution:

I linked the Folder under the "Remote" Section when setting up OneDrive as source, this didn't work as stated.

However, if you select the local mounting folder that you have to specify when setting it up, it works. (so Volume1\Folder...)

Funny enough i wanted to use TFM as a workaround for CloudSync because it refused to properly sync my Camera Roll in OneDrive (close to 20k pictures in one folder).

Unfortunately TFM sync shows the exact same issue, so i'm starting to assume this has to do with the massive amount of files in the specified folder?

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

After preliminary analysis, we believe that the number of files (20k) is not the primary cause of the issue. As we have not encountered a similar situation before, to further diagnose the problem, we recommend that you access the log files via SSH and send them to our support email (support(at)terra-master.com) so we can quickly identify the issue.

Error log path: /Volume1/@apps/TFM_Backup/runLog
Note: Volume1 is the installation volume for the TFMBackup application.

Additionally, if you prefer, you can contact our after-sales technical support team, and we will provide remote assistance to resolve the issue promptly.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
