F2-210 problems re-initialising

Post by Sean »

I've only had the NAS for a week or so, set up was fine initially but I attempted to Emby app today, it wasn't working and when I uninstalled, the NAS beeped and restarted. The disk with was then inaccessible, I swapped for another HDD to try to resolve the problem - the NAS appears in TNAS PC app but if I try to log in I get a message "only one LAN port can be connected during initialisation" and can go no further.

I have downloaded TOS to install offline but am unable to find any guide to how to do this once I have the file!

I have also accessed through PUTTY - I'm not particularly familiar with this but have followed instructions in other threads to access root and use /etc/tos/scripts/wget_from_online but I get a message Unable to load dynamic library 'gd.so'

Another thread on the forum suggested this might be because the default gateway needs to be changed, however the gateway is the same in PUTTY as my windows IP configuration in cmd

Is there a way to resolve this rather than just returning the NAS?

Hi, your system was crashed, here is the guideline for re-installation your TNAS.
viewtopic.php?f=75&t=423

Please tell what hard drives you installed in your tnas. Unhealthy or not recommended hard drive make lead to system crash.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried using two WD NAS drives and one other PC HDD I had spare.

The WD drives were working fine initially and went wrong when I uninstalled Emby.

I tried the guide you suggested before I posted and initially it would try to install but get stuck (for hours) at 10 or 11%.

I reformatted one of the WD NAS drives and the spare HDD I have tried and both now just show "initialisation - only one LAN port can be connected during initialisation! Please keep your TNAS device connected to the Internet. Otherwise, you cannot install TOS online. You will need to download TOS installation package from TerraMaster's official website and install it manually"

Nothing has changed in my network setup since I initially installed TOS and the device shows up in TNAS pc app.

I can't find any instructions to install manually?

Is there a way to copy data over from the original disk I was using? When I insert this it only seems to want me to set it up as a new disk and delete everything
