Can't receive verification email during installation?

To be honest, I am used to the issue. It even happened with a large Bank, that I bank with.
I have gmail account for exactly this reason. But, I never look at it day-today.

You are right, this does not mean that TerraMaster has a bad and not optimized forum. Many forums on phpBB software also work and do not accept third-party formats.

Never said it did, just that there is a known issue with some mail sending systems if the email address contains "non-standard" characters like a dash "-".

phpBB forums have two methods of sending SMTP requests (emails), there is the inbuilt functionality which i know does not have an issue.
There is also the option to use an external SMTP server. It could be what Terrmaster have configured in which case it could be their fault.

I know phpBB forums quite well. I have managed various over the past 30 years, though only manage one now.

But please do not miss up two topics, if you want to discuss the email notification for the forum, please start a new topic. The current topic is related to the issue of verification during TOS installation instead of forum registration.

We will forward the request to the tech team and check if there is any configuration inside the phpBB that can optimize the email verification issue. Before we can succeed in doing that, please try a different email address. Thank you!

I too have this problem of not receiving the verification email when setting up my F2-210. I put in my security email and nothing comes. Nothing in spam either. I have a Yahoo email address with a username that is all alphabetic characters.

I was able to continue during the initialization without it, but now I need to reset the password because I can't remember what I used for the password (yes, I know ). It doesn't seem that I can reset it without receiving a verification code, which I still don't receive at my email address. What could possibly be the issue?

Hi, I have the problem too for my F8 SSD, just bought. Successful creation of account and super-user, but followed by a failure to authenticate on iOS, then a failure to re-authenticate from the desktop via the browser.

Live chat is not currently working (for me), and no reset email arrives in my inbox or spam folders when requested. To keep things aligned I'd like to stick with the initial registration email rather than create a new one for the purpose, if that's possible, as multiple email address management is quite some overhead.

Thanks - what I meant was that I could not log back into my account again, after creation. I couldn't authenticate and did skip it, but I think that was an initial red flag that my email domain had triggered some kind of block. It's a common free email domain, so that shouldn't be the case.

I'm hoping there is a way to whitelist it and that support will pick this up from my email to them.

There is an issue for many users that simple email protocols from the nas via (whatever server they are directed to by TM) fail to get processed. Particularly applies to email notifications when you try to set that up, so I expect the same failure occurs with the initial verification. The odd thing is it only seems to happen in certain areas - like Europe, USA, etc - and TM ops in China don't see it. I use custom email setup within nas to my email provider using specified port for tls/ssl. I still cannot send via my dedicated provider via port 25 or any other port they accept outside of standard (like 2525). Its weird!

I'm literally in the process of setting up my system right now (TOS 6) and, for me, the problem is that there are no outgoing SMTP settings so no mail can be sent. I just skipped ahead, configured the settings in Control Panel / Notifications once the system was up and then the test email works fine.

I think it's an installation step that adds unnecessary confusion.
