Adding new drive to storage pool - configuration saved, then nothing...

Post by tmpark »

Hi,

I've just purchased the F4-424 Pro, and have a question about adding a Seagate 4tb drive.

Currently, I've got 2 WD 2TB drives, a crucial 500mb nvme drive and a samsung 2TB drive attached.

I'm looking to add the 4tb drive. The drive is listed in the list of disks, and shows as normal, however when I edit the storage pool, I edit the pool, click to add the drive, confirm the next couple of steps, and on clicking the final confirm, I receive: configuration saved. For my other drives, I've always had some details to say that the drive will take xmins to complete etc.

Do I need to remove the seagate drive, and perform some additional steps on it? Reformat, remove partitions etc?

Thanks
Tony

How did you configure these drives? 2 WD 2TB drives, a crucial 500mb nvme drive and a samsung 2TB drive attached.
what raid type you used? and make sure your 4TB drive is healthy and you can try to wipe the drive before add it into the raid.

If the 4TB Seagate is hard to come by, try formatting or deleting any partitions. Sometimes a little TLC is all it takes! If that doesn't work, a quick unplug and plug back in may fix the problem.
