Mapping to another NAS/library (SMB or NFS) via Plex

Post by HarounHaroun »

Hi there,

Proud new owner of a TM P4-423.. The MAIN reason I bought it is to run a Plex server on it that is always-on, rather than rely on my PC Plex server..

Previously I was mapping my libraries through the PC Plex server, but now I want to map them off the Terrmaster Plex server off both the Terrmaster Volumes and the other NAS (Buffalo link station) and have then always-on

At present the Terramaster only sees the Terramster Volumes and sub-directories.

I have added the Buffalo Folder via the TOS6 file manager and it appears OK through that but does not appear via the Plex libraries browser!

Is there a setting or do I have to add them manually in a config file on Plex/TOS6 ??

Hi!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We suggest resetting the permissions for the application user "plex" in the shared folder. Please follow these steps:

1. Select and edit the shared folder.
2. Locate the "Permissions" tab.
3. Select the application user "plex" and configure the necessary read and write permissions.
4. Save the settings and restart the Plex service to apply the changes.

If you encounter any issues during this process or if the problem persists, please feel free to contact us at any time. We will be here to provide further assistance. Thank you!

Excellent! Worked a peach! Two questions:
  • Does that copy the data back to Terramster or are they virtual links?
  • How do you set the Plex index cache to point to the application volume, not the data volume?
