Maybe bad contact(s) between drives and backplane. You could try removing all the hdd and (if possible & able) clean the connectors. Re-insert one drive and test again. (change drives with system off.)
I will try cleaning the terminals as suggested and see if that makes a difference. The drives are also not recognized by my PC or Mac when plugging in with a SATA USB converter. The drives just beep.

Do you know if the 3.3V power disable pin needs to be masked off? I would assume that since the drive is listed on TerraMaster’s compatibility list then that should not be necessary. I would figure they are following the latest SATA standards.

As far as I know, 3.3v pin should not be an issue. I hesitate to ask... where did you get the drives from?

I got them from Serverpartdeals. They are supposed to be very reputable from what I’ve heard. At the very least I will be able to return them if necessary.

Hi,

I've been running 3 HGST-WD 12TB HDDs (HUH721212ALE601) for a week without any need to mask pin 3 so the F4-424 Pro can definitely handle the "power disable" design stock.

Hope you were able to solve your issue.
