Background:
PC on same network as the F4-223 (2.5g) link, copy a 10g file, get ~100mb/s copy speed
Laptop on same network as the F2-223 (2.5g) link, copy a 10g file, get ~100mb/s copy speed
All HDs are 8TB Iron Wolf drives
Both NAS are also connected via a crossover cable on NIC 2 showing 2.5g link
================
Run Duple (latest version just downloaded the other day) from the F2 to Duple Vault on the F4. IP's used is the NIC2 values. So no hub/switch involved, just the crossover connection.
I see ~20mb/s transfer speed (according to Duple status).
What can I do to inspect/verify or collect information that could be reviewed?

Re: Not very fast
Duple compresses and encrypts the backup, that will cause some slow down.
I don't have access to my NAS at the moment, but I think there is also a setting in Duple to change the number of simultaneous connections? You might want to increase the number and see if that makes any difference.

Re: Not very fast
Thanks, I will look for that settings. Also I have two M.2 1TB sticks coming with the intent of installing one in each NAS. Couldn't hurt.liability wrote: ↑16 Dec 2024, 06:18 Duple compresses and encrypts the backup, that will cause some slow down.

Re: Not very fast
UPDATE: Speed issue is gone, I did some checking and with Gig or higher networks do not use a crossover cable.
I just used a regular patch cable [I did stick with RED
] between the two NAS boxes and bingo, over 100MB/s

Re: Not very fast
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. The latest version primarily supports backup functionality for multiple files and folders. Regarding the issue of backup speed being affected by encryption and compression, we are continuously working on optimizations.

Re: Not very fast
Ok so I'm seeing the same kind of speed; 17MB/s transferring from one TNAS device to another using Duple. Can I just confirm you're still finding a straight cable as opposed to a crossover significantly increases transfer speeds
Re: Not very fast
Yes straight cable fixed my issue and is still working fine.
