D5/D8 Hybrid - Capabilities

The marketing "fluff" (for the D8) says:

You can even use the D8 Hybrid as an external DAS storage device for Te​rraMaster NAS. Both TOS 5 and the latest TOS 6 systems support creating new volumes using the four HDDs and four M.2 SSDs of the D8 Hybrid, and utilizing the full range of TerraMaster NAS storage features, such as setting up storage pools, various RAID modes, and enabling snapshots.

I want to be sure I understand this correctly. If I use D8 for example and have all drives in single mode, If I choose to stop/eject HDD1 will HDD2 also be disconnected? Will ALL HDD be disconnected? Will ALL HDD+Nvme be disconnected?

If I choose Raid0/1 for HDD1+2, will the NAS recognise that as one drive? Could that "drive" be incorporated in a nas raid to match {2 smaller drives in raid 0 plus one larger drive together to make raid1}? (I know Traid should be an option - I'm just exploring (potentially bad) ideas here ).

On D8 hybrid, only HDD1 and HDD2 are under one hardware raid controller, eject any of this two drive will cause another drive also ejected. But this behaviors will not happen to other drives like HDD3~4 or NVMe 1~4.
