Bootloader 6.1.159 on F4-423

Post by angelo1761 »

As far as you know, it is possible to install the bootloader of the F4-424 Max which has version 6.1.159 on the F4-423 which still has 5.1.48: both are for x86 systems but I'm not sure and I don't want to cause any damage. I am however reinstalling TOS 6 on new m2 ssd. Thank you very much

Is it correct to create a storage pool and volume on the nvme ssd, system disk, to be able to carry out the updates? Any contraindications?
Another storage pool will be on 4 hdd in TRAID for data

My plan is to reinstall tos 6, previously installed and updated on the HDD raid, on an M2 SSD and using the second M2 SSD as hypercache. The HDDs will be in TRAID and dedicated exclusively to data.
But the bootloader, despite the updates, is still version 5. The question is whether it is possible to use version 6 of the bootloader present only in the F4-424 Max downloads and indicated for all X86 systems (like my F4-423) to update the bootloader by redoing the installation procedure.
The second question concerns the partitioning of the SSD (500 GB): after installing the operating system, it is correct to create a storage pool and a volume, of about 200 GB, to manage updates and install applications.

Hi.You can send a private message to our customer service to obtain the method of making the USB bootloader of TOS 6. In addition, the system can be installed on the M2 SSD on F4-424 Max. It should be noted that as the SSD is used as the M2 super cache, the cache data on the previous system needs to be cancelled first.
