TOS 6 - how much disk space used?

Post by subfiver »

I got an F4-212 + 2x8tb drives; when I set it up I found TOS6 wasn't supported, so factory reset and sent it back

Replaced with F4-423, installed the same drives, 5hrs to 'synchronise' then I did a manual update to TOS 6.0.530.

Prior to update Vol 1 (raid1) was showing 100-odd k used space, post TOS6 it's showing 372.05 Gb used and my nominal 8Tb drives in Raid 1 are showing a capacity of only 7.21Gb.

Is this normal for TOS6 and can I recover any of that 372gb ?

PS: I haven't "used" the NAS, nor installed any apps, tho' I notice that in App Center some apps are shown "Install" and some "download" which implyes some of these apps. are on Vol1 somewhere ....

I discovered by accident that TOS's volumes configured with 5% reserved space for root (common thing on linux).
My topic: viewtopic.php?t=6652
On large volumes there is a significant loss of free space.
Vendor should respond with solution.
T6-423: 4x4TB + 1x12TB + 1x250GB + 1x1TB
