Hi Terramaster devs!
Could you please a have a look on the issue that configuring PCIe passthrough of the ASM1062 SATA controller on F4-424 is not possible on latest Proxmox 8.3.1?
I know that this is a third-party OS and probably beyond the scope of your support.
However, it seems that a lot of people are intersted in running Proxmox on your HW devices.
The problem is described here: https://tanezky.github.io/posts/proxmox ... ng-asm1061
I also experience exactly the same issue.
If you could give an indication if this is a HW issue, BIOS issue or a kernel issue (Linux pve 6.8.12-4-pve #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC PMX 6.8.12-4 (2024-11-06T15:04Z) x86_64 GNU/Linux), I would be glad.
Unfortunately, the F4-424 BIOS setup does not offer any options for configuring PCIe devices.

BTW: there are also first Amazon reviews that report this problem: https://www.amazon.de/review/R1MFYR4WXF ... B0CT5CZ8WW

A cursory search (https://www.google.com/search?q=proxmox+ASMedia+drivers) shows that ASMedia controllers don't seem to work on proxmox from any vendors, so this is a ASMedia support issue, not one for TerraMaster, whom are not obligated to provide support for use cases which are outside of what their devices are sold.

Thanks @crisisacting for your reply.
However, your quick research is simply incorrect.
There are a lot of HW configurations that work.
Even on the latest Terramaster series there seem to be some HW models that are reported to work.
I understand that Terramaster cannot support on this topic as it is a third-party OS.
I am pretty sure that they are aware of the fact that their devices are used in such a way. Being an embedded device myself, I just wanted to raise some attention to this.

I'm very sorry, but since we are not familiar with how Proxmox manages the PCI-SATA controller in its VMs, we may not be able to assist you with this matter.
