TERRAMASTER D6-320 Unraid SMART Values

Post by IIIMr48III »

Hi All,

I have just purchased a TERRAMASTER D6-320 and connected it via a USB 3.2 card (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B087G7T234/ ... 81_TE_item), I am using Unraid via a HP desktop PC, everything looks to be good including transfer speeds however the hard drives are not showing their SMART values in Unraid, this includes the hard drive temperatures, I have an internal hard drive and an NVME inside the HP desktop PC and they both show SMART values and temperatures. I have also connected a USB drive into the USB 3.2 card and Unraid shows up the SMART values so it looks to be an issue with the TERRAMASTER D6-320 not passing the SMART values to Unraid.

Is anyone aware of a fix for this as this is critical for me to be able to see disk temperatures and SMART values?

Please let me know if further detail is required.

Thanks!

SMART values need the USB connection to be in UASP mode in the OS. If its falling back to 'Mass Storage' mode, then SMART may not get passed through. I had this issue on Debian and solved it by using a (much) shorter USB cable.
