I'm configuring my network for F4-424 Pro and connected network connection to both network interface.
To fully utilize both connection, my understanding is to create bond for them, but not sure which mode to select and not sure which is applicable to me. Both interface is connected to a 1G ports in my router. Is this possible?
Which bond mode to select?

Re: Which bond mode to select?
Your router needs to support LACP fully utilize both connection. Then you choose (802.3ad) IEEE 8023.ad Dynamic link aggregation at your NAS. And setup LACP on your router.

Re: Which bond mode to select?
If you don't have 802.3ad on your switch (or router), or you don't want/can't be bothered to configure it, then you can set up 'active load balancing' method on the nas. This gives you (effectively) one stream up and one stream down or 'twice the bandwidth'. (In testing you can see this in the resource monitor if you switch from one lan to the other while processing data.)

Re: Which bond mode to select?
When using lacp, wake on lan only works on one lan ip. If you cannot get it to work on one, try another lan port. Watch out for the 'correct' MAC address depending on the wol app you use. I have had to clear the app and rescan because it remembered the 'wrong' MAC address when the network changed.

Re: Which bond mode to select?
The Wake On Lan is not a F4-424/link aggregation issue.Lijsterbesje wrote: ↑03 Dec 2024, 22:52 On my F4-424 Wake on LAN does not work anymore if i use link aggregation.
When i use a TP-Link SG3210X-M2 1.0 link aggregation enabled switch WOL is not working.
When i use a Netgear GS716T link aggregation enabled WOL works perfect.
