No hdmi output

Post by bryan »

Hello, I just bought a new F4-423, I plugged in keyboard, mouse and HDMI cable, and there is no HDMI output. The cable and monitor are working fine because I verified with another computer next to it. I hear the 3 long beeps after a few seconds indicating there is no OS on the USB drive supposedly. However, I would expect to see output on HDMI. Is it a dead unit?

More info: I can find the device on the network,

No hard drive detected!
Please install hard drive(s) and try again!

If I install uninitialized hard drive(s), there is low volume beep sound after the initial boot beep and it never gets past that stage to access network. Also, I would expect to at least see some HDMI output.

The internal USB is just for booting the device into an initialization wizard; you must install the TOS onto drives.

The HDMI output is simply for troubleshooting purposes & not for active use.

Hello, I don't intend to use the HDMI but why is there no output? I saw people post screenshots of a BIOS/pre execution environment. For example, if I want to install TOS onto drives from a USB stick in one of the USB 3 ports, I would need to configure USB as the boot drive.
