Nas and Plex server using same IP address?

Post by monkeyboy72 »

I bought a new router a few days ago and after setting everything up I noticed that my Nas and Plex are using the exact same IP address just different ports 8181 for TOS and 32400 for Plex.
It's weird right?, im convinced on my old router they both had completely different IP addresses?, maybe they didn't, everything seems to work ok, can anyone reassure me that this is ok please.

hiiii,
It’s perfectly normal for your NAS and Plex to share the same IP address with different ports (8181 for TOS and 32400 for Plex), and it won’t cause any issues. This setup is common when multiple services run on the same device, with each service using a separate port to avoid conflicts. If everything is working fine, there’s no need to worry. If you’d like, you can set static IPs for each device on your router, but it’s not necessary for the system to run smoothly.

Best regard,
