Virtual box - unable to install win 11

Post by JonRando »

Reposting here as I think I posted initially in the wrong place. Tried to delete posts there, but unable (sorry for duplication).

running TOS 6.0.507, F8 SSD Plus, Virtualbox 6.1.4.6.1103

Trying to install win11 and have followed the steps exactly. After typing exit and the cmd line and selecting the CD in boot order, I see the "press any button to continue" to continue booting from the ISO image. I press a button and then it's just a VirtualBox logo and doesn't proceed from there. Have tried repeatedly with the same result. Any ideas? Followed this guide with the same results: viewtopic.php?p=38836&hilit=windows+11%60#p38836

Windows 10 installs and configures fine including VB additions iso. Looks isolated to Win11 specifically.

This is the image I see vs windows actually continuing to load the setup.

Still an open issue. Is this a known issue with the F8 SSD Plus or current TOS release?

Select OS Type Windows 10, but upload your own ISO. I had the same problem when I selected OS Type Windows 11

Try to RDP directly to that socket (host IP and port) i.e. 192.168.1.1:9100

Thanks for the suggestion. Set an env for Win 10. I tested it initially just booting off a win 10 pro ISO which immediately started the setup successfully. Shut down the env and reset for a Win11 ISO. I can see the windows logo - but that's all it does. Stays there with no further progress. See pic below. Guessing this is a software\hardware issue between our NAS models.

Doing this currently. That's how I see the BIOS and\or setup logo. Other non Win11 envs work fine. This looks isolated purely to win 11 on this NAS model.
