macOS Sequoia compatibility

Post by Fidge »

Today is macOS 15 release day. I have asked Terramaster about compatibility with my D8-332 and the reply is "wait some time before updating". That could mean:
  • They don't know or
  • There are issues that require updated software from Terramaster
It doesn't however tell me if they are working on such an update.

My Mac every now and then pops up a warning about software from HighPoint Technologies, Inc. not being compatible with an upcoming macOS, so I fear it might indeed be risky to install macOS Sequoia now. The Sequoia beta has been out for ages, so if Terramaster hasn't yet tried, maybe somebody else has?

If anyone has updated please let us know or is everything working. Sequoia has a lot of cool new features and I would love to upgrade, but of course I can't do it without making sure my D5 Thunderbolt3 will work without problems.
Any word from support?

OK, from extremely limited testing on a second Mac updated to macOS 15 Sequoia:
  • As soon as I turn the D8-332 on, I get the familiar warning about software not being compatible with an upcoming macOS release.
  • The RAID mounts and behaves normally (just testing reading and writing a few GB)
I'm not encouraging anyone to install Sequoia just because of this. Terramaster has told those who ask to wait. That's probably wise.

Hey.

also some more details of my setup:

Macbook Pro M1 Max 16"
1x Terramaster D5 Thunderbolt 3
2x Terramaster D2 Thunderbolt 3
2x Terramaster D5 300

Right now it works seamlessly since 3 hours, latest driver installed before updating to OS15 Sequoia.

No driver warning.

enjoy
