Group access policies do not work
I need to set up access to shared folders for users via groups on
TerraMaster T12-423 12-Bay
TOS Version 5.1.131-00123
I created a user (userA) and added him to a group (myGroup). Then I set the directory permission "read+write" for "myGroup".
But the directory cannot be accessed until I set the permissions for the user directly.
User permission cannot be removed, it can only be set to DENY, READ, READ+WRITE. Therefore, there is no way to use group permission, because the user permission will overwrite it anyway.
Also, it is normal for user permissions to override group permissions, but how do you "undo" a user permission?
How to set up and use groups to access shared folders?
Group Permissions not working in ToS 5?
Re: Group Permissions not working in ToS 5?
TOS5 gives priority to user rights over group rights and does not support the removal of user rights.
If you really need to revoke user permissions, you may want to consider resetting the system configuration.
Perhaps you can wait for the future release of TOS6, which will support the permissions you want to set.
