I have one local network. LAN1 is connected to the router and receives a dynamic address. I connected LAN2 to another server and wanted to register a static address. But it doesn't work. Ports raised by 1000Mb\c

Welcome to the club. No one have been able to track the issue and give a solution, i'm going to switch from TOS 6 to unraid.spamdz12o wrote: ↑17 Aug 2024, 02:54 Just got a new 423. Installed drives and updated to TOS 6.
Everything seemed to work perfectly... but then I began playing. Copz a lot of data to Volume1, 100% cpu for ages and system unresponsive. Plex scanning something? 100% cpu random moments during the day? 100% cpu, SMART testing HDDs, 100% cpu.
Is this normal? Also, I cannot limit the CPU usage of containers, so there is nothing I can do to mitigate it.... is there?
(I have 3 disks, 1x8 teras, 2x4 teras and 8 gigas of RAM, it should freaking fly, but...)
Any help avaliable?

Something like Ryan Air ... It works, but at base level it looks cheap and nasty; you can pay for extras at exorbitant prices that you might get cheaper or free elsewhere; eventually you will land successfully, but possibly miles from your intended destination.

Really, just take your terramaster NAS (wonderful piece of hardware) and put another OS in it.
I had some (big) issues with TOS 6, no solutions found at all and not even identified the cause. Now i'm doing a backup of my data at the speed of 5-10 MB/sec because of high CPU load: it will take weeks, but at the end i will be able to put a working OS inside my F4-424 PRO.

Re: TOS 6.0.420 Beta Is Available for Testing
I can now answer this (for the most part). Running Tos 6.0.436, reset to factory config. (Remembering to only have 1 lan attached)
Reset went smoothly, but with no options. Auto re-installed 6.0.436. Storage Pools (2) and Volumes (2) were left intact. Had to reset SuperAdmin name and password. All other users/permissions removed and would need to be reset. Not sure if a saved configuration of this version would have saved the latter.
Caution: Previously all drives showed as 'system drives'. I have 2 sets of Traid array = 2x 500Gb NMVe plus 2 x 6TB HDD. Pool1/Volume1 are on NVMe and Pool2/Volume2 are on HDD. As stated these are intact but ONLY HDD show as 'system drives'. However, both HDD and NVMe sets show as having all the system partitions (boot, os, swap) as being installed. I have yet to verify if the system will boot with HDDs removed.
Joy!: Applications can now be installed. Whether that is a result of the reset or just a factor of something being fixed today only the gods know.

Re: TOS 6.0.420 Beta Is Available for Testing
Hello everyone!
I would like to share the bugs I have found.
1) At the first system startup, when I write the password, the system does not accept the password like "QwertyuiOpa01234567#" (yellow light in the password line and it is impossible to proceed to the next step), but if I change the password to "Qwertyuiopa0123" - everything becomes ok, later I change the password in the system to "QwertyuiOpa01234567#" - and everything works correctly. (TOS 6.0.420).
2) Hard drives do not go to sleep mode. All containers and applications (also the system) are installed on two m.2 nvme disks, only one network share is created on the hard drive. FW: TOS 6.0.436, HW: Terramaster F4-423.
And I can't help but sum up the good side of the latest release - the latest release (6.0.436) is really perfect!
Even with the maximum system load (photoprism image indexing and copying files via SMB, CPU load 70-100%, system load - 60-80%) - TOS does not stop being responsive and fast, everything works fine, great job!
Now that the system is based on Ubuntu, we have apt, and we can install additional system components and implement non-standard tasks.
And for me it looks very good as a beta version, and the system is really pleasant for daily use.
Thank you and good luck!

Unfortunately, this is the only case you have encountered so far.golgoth wrote: ↑18 Aug 2024, 22:47 Really, just take your terramaster NAS (wonderful piece of hardware) and put another OS in it.

Based on the information you have provided on the forums and in your emails, you may have been too determined to attribute the problem to the TNAS device or the TOS system.
You can try reinstalling TOS to troubleshoot the system software.
If you insist on trying to roll back the installation of TOS5, you can reset the USB boot disc to that of TOS5, although we don't recommend this due to the unknown problems it can cause:viewtopic.php?t=6433
You can also try to troubleshoot the read/write I/O of the TNAS device by using other discs.
You can try to connect the TNAS directly to the PC to troubleshoot the network connection problem.
Regarding the discs in your RAID that have been used for many years and two of the SMR discs, I can't rule out that this may have an effect. The fact that you are getting abortions when copying files could also be an indication of the problem to some extent.
Also, regarding the CPU usage, a short period of time is not an abnormal situation.

Actually, by reading this topic, i'm at least the third.
Based on the information you have provided on the forums and in your emails, you may have been too determined to attribute the problem to the TNAS device or the TOS system.
It happened after upgrading to 639, what else should be the cause?
Also, regarding the CPU usage, a short period of time is not an abnormal situation.
You are telling me that, with a F4-424 PRO, is "not abnormal" to have an unstable OS and a CPU from 60% to 90-95% when transfering files?
You should write it in your ads: "Most powerful Nas in the world, except when you start transfering files".
By the way, i found out that transfering files to an external USB drive through SMB does not make loads too high, while if i do it through TOS the transfer rate is abysmal because of extreme loads. And you tell me it's not a TOS issue?
