TERRAMASTER D4-300 Slow Speeds

Hi I have TERRAMASTER D4-300, connected with a proper cable 3.1 5gbs cable. I am having very slow intradrive trasnfer rates.

1. When I transfer a file my the D4-300 to my C:\ Drive (SSD) - I get speeds of 130-160 Mbs/ basically the max each drive can put out.
2. When I transfer a file from one drive within the D4-300 to another drive within the D4-300 the transfer rate is between 40-60 MBs. Shouldn't it be the same transfer rate? Is the rate low because it is reading and writing at the same time? Even so then I'd except it to be low if reading and writing to the same drive. If reading from one and writing to another drive on the D4-300 it should have plenty of overhead with the 5gbs connection?
