I do not want RAID on my Terramaster F4-423

Post by AlterSchwede62 »

Hallo

I have a new F4-423 and started the whole thing.
At the moment I am looking at the NAS as it is automatically implemeting 2 x 14GB disks to a RAID. Whatever RAID that is.
This lasts as it seems nearly 3 hours!

However, I do not want to use any RAID Mode.
I only want, how ever at the moment, 2 HDDs in the NAS with full 14GB space, later 3 HDDs and again later 4. Each full disk space.
All shall be seperate disks. Nothing else. Simple and easy.

How do I do that and can I stopp this RAID creating thing?
Thank you.

You can delete the volume and storage pool, and then re-create the storage pool. When creating a storage pool, select Single mode or JBOD mode.

Hi New to Terramaster - I've got the F424Pro. Setting up my NAS and I didn't get the option to create a JBOD. The NAS has created a RAID. I've seen the response above about changing the RAID to JBOD which is great, at the moment it is showing "Storage Pool as synchronizing" can I interrupt this and set up as JBOD or do I have to leave it till all is synchronized?

How did you interrupt Synchronizing?

Sorry, I returned the NAS, because I had too much failures with it.

You have to look up.
Somewhere there is a possibility to interrupt the Synchronizing.
I interrupted it because it would have taken about a day to synchronize it, inspite there weren't any data on the four HDDs.

Synchronization is a critical step in RAID configuration, please do not interrupt it. If the hard drive capacity is large, the synchronization process does take a long time.

I ended up letting it all synchronize and then deleted the storage pool and then created JBOD as that's what I wanted.
Thanks all!

Heavy! :o

However, I hope you have more fun with the Terramaster than I. :)
