Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
Hello! I've been using Terramaster F5-422 for a long time. And there was a problem updating the Plex server 1.40.3.8555. The update progress reaches 100%, but is not followed by any confirmation, it simply ends. As a result, the previous version 1.40.2.8395 remains. I tried deleting the server while saving the configuration data, but that didn't help.

Applicaton (APP Center) will only show the highest published version of the Plex app.
For the exact current version please check the Plex web control panel - Settings - General.

May I ask what version of TOS you are using?
You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Plex, or deleting any Plex library files that may be problematic.
If you are using TOS5, please refer to this note to check if you are experiencing such problems:

Re: Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
I noticed the same problem, but with a variation….
The manual installation of the update to 1.40.3.8555 appears to succeed, and I can see in the Plex Media Server console that it shows the version as 1.40.3.8555….BUT….it also says “update available” and has a link to the exactly the same version that is installed, so that doesn’t make sense.
Moreover, in the TOS App Center, Plex Media Server is still showing the previous version 1.40.2.8395, so the exact installation status is unclear.
Perhaps, uninstalling Plex and deleting the “Plex” shared folder on the NAS, and then reinstalling would fix the issue?
I also have an issue with adding media from NAS shares to the Plex library - Plex can’t index the media on the NAS at all, and the library is empty.
I might try one more uninstall-delete-reinstall cycle to see if this resolves it.

Re: Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
I'm also unable to update Plex 1.40.3.8555. I've tried each file in the manual install area of the application center and it keeps saying "The file is incorrect an cannot be installed" I'm running TOS 5.1.73.00078 on a F4-412 TNAS. I have tried both ARM and X86 files and all do the same thing. I even tried the one that while in Plex you select update and it downloads the correct update file for you. No matter which one I try they all fail. Looking for help.
Re: Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
The Plex console shows the real version. The App Center will show at most the latest version available in the App Center.

Re: Plex 1.40.3.8555 server installation problem
As far as we know, Plex has not released a version for the TOS5_arm platform. When you install an inappropriate package it will say "The file is incorrect an cannot be installed".
Please use the version available in the App Center.
