T6 423 Memory and SSD

Post by mark8par »

Hi all, just about to purchase my first Terramaster Nas to replace my faulty Qnap.

I am looking to install Truenas on it with a m.2 ssd and boot from this and also add some more memory.

Couple of questions though as I cant find it in the spec list.

I dont need a large m.2 ssd for truenas os so smallest I can find from a decent brand is 500gb, can I set this up so I can boot from it and how can iu transfer the truenas os to it and set it as boot drive?

With regards to the memory I read that it will only support 32gb if I use Terramasters own but it is ridiculously expensive, has anyone used non Terramaster memory and got it working properly (and checked the throughput) and what brands would you recommend?
Thanks
Mark
