Cant Claim Server Out of date version

Post by simplegreen99 »

Pulling my hair out folks. Really shouldn't be this difficult.

Randomly my Plex server will just not show up when i launch a plex app. Only other servers from other people im connected to will show up.

I then go to Plex in Terramaster and see why. There's NOTHING saying i need to do anything, all the services are running, i can launch plex (still see my sever files missing however). I only notice i need to update Plex. So i do.

When the update is complete, im asked by plex to "Claim my server". I try to do so and literally nothing happens. Click the button.. nothing. I see under the claim option that my Plex version (1.40.2.8395) is out of date and needs updating. This is the only version available through the apps section of TerraMaster.

So then I think, well maybe a manual update. So i go to what is supposed to be the Plex Download page. And is broken. And has been for a VERY long time.

So I cant update, so i cant claim... and i cant download cause the page is broken. Seriously ... someone walk me through this because this is an absolute effin cluster. SIDE NOTE: if this is NOT why I cant claim my server... please walk me through how....

TOS: 5.1.95
Bios: 5.6.5
Plex: 1.40.2.8395 (no effin idea what version is the latest because i cant get to the damn page to find out)

We have not been able to find out why.
Perhaps you could try clearing your browser and switching to cookies, then reopening and setting Plex.

Went to quoted page and found this:

v.1.40.3.8555-fef15d30c
June 7, 2024

listed for Terramaster {choose your package Intel64 or Armv8}

and Terramaster TOS 5 {intel64}

so I can't see what is broken.
F5-221 TOS7.0.0777 - 4x4TB (Ironwolf) Traid
F2-424 TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (HGST) Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.0777 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Btrfs
F2-425+ TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (EXOS) Traid

Correct apparently my entire network has been plotting against me. Im not 100% sure where things changed with Plex, but apparently something in my network is preventing specific things on plex to not work correctly. Claiming a server is one, but hitting their own web page via any browser leads to stuff not working.

So now im trouble shooting. Will report back.

/FacePalm

browser pop up/ad blocker add ons were preventing the Claiming of the Server and downloads from Plex directly.

opened a firefox browser inPrivate, disabled all the add ons, claimed the server... bob's your mothers brother.
