Yes you can put it into any external USB port. When the internal Initboot fails, it can read the Initboot of the external USB port.

Glad you finally got it to work, so you were actually booting with any hard drive in it? When it has a hard disk, it tries to boot from the system partition of the hard disk and not from the USB Initboot.cflo361 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2024, 11:06 UPDATE: I got it running guys. What I did was...

- Start the NAS wait a few minutes (with USB Adapter plug in)
- Then initialize the NAS like a new product.
