Failed to Create Index

Post by koalakoala »

Hi., Trying to setup Terramaster photos but when I start TM photos, it redirects me to the media index.
If I 'enable media indexing' I get 2 messages:
- Configuration saved
- Failed to create index (in status).
Restarted, rebooted and checked that I have the latest TOS and no chance to make it work.

Does anyone knows what to do in this case?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers

Did you encounter the issue of unable to enable media indexing after upgrading to TOS 6.0.507? Did this issue occur before the upgrade?

I have the same issue after upgrading to 6.0.610. I can't get it to index the media files.

Hello! Is it still impossible to enable media indexing after rebooting the system?
If that's the case, it is recommended to visit the official website and contact the online customer service to schedule a remote check.

Similar issue on 5.1.145 after installing photos.

Enable media indexing and unchecks itself. Checking media.log it was having an issue with /Volume1/@system/media/sqlite/files.db which already exists (1.9Gb, possibly a previous index?)
Moved this out of the way and I now have an sql error: sql.c:310: error: sql:INSERT INTO PHOTO ........ ON CONFLICT DO NOTHING; PGSQL 7 ERROR ERROR: column "year" of relation "photo" does not exist

Changed to psql user, connected to database, renamed photo to photo_old, sql.c:310: error: sql:INSERT INTO PHOTO ....... ON CONFLICT DO NOTHING; PGSQL 7 ERROR ERROR: relation "photo" does not exist

So looks like the media index isn't correctly 1) checking if sqlite db exists and removing it & 2) checking the structure of the postgres is correct (should drop and re-create first)

The update of Terra Photos may require you to rebuild the media index to continue normal use.
Please try to rebuild the media index.
