Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
Has anyone successfully installed Jellyfin from the community apps on the 424 Pro? I don't see the 424 Pro listed as a model on the FFMPEG app, so I did not activate a driver, and after setting up Jellyfin, the path for FFMPEG in the Dashboard is not edit-able. I am using Plex in the meantime, but I am not a huge fan and prefer Jellyfin. I am not very familiar with Portainer or I would set it up that way, but I am also worried that I would still run into the same issue with FFMPEG. There aren't very many instruction videos for the 424 Pro and how to setup Jellyfin via Portainer either.
Re: Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
Jellyfin from community can be installed on F4-424. All the apps available for TOS5 x86_64 can be installed on TOS6. Make sure you have also all the dependencies apps installed
Re: Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
@outkastm thank you for the reply. I have everything downloaded and I installed everything as well. I did get confused though on the FFMPEG driver as the F4-424 Pro is not listed as a model for any of those drivers. With a little bit of research I enabled the HD driver, but I was still unable to use Jellyfin. I set everything up and it was pulling in my media, but I was unable to play anything back. I think it has something to do with a section in the dashboard about the FFMPEG path and nothing being populated there, as well as it not able to be edited.
Re: Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
Try to disable the hardware transcoding and see if the media are playing.
Re: Jellyfin on F4-424 Pro
If path for ffmpeg is not populated automatically, some dependencies can missing and ffmpeg51 fail to load. Post a screenshot from Jellyfin WebUI app setting

Hello,
If you want to avoid compatibility issues and have a stable version of Jellyfin, you can use Docker to deploy a container and ensure a reliable service. As for assistance, I personally rely on AI tools, which help me a lot in improving my NAS.
