Adding NTFS Drive

Post by johnsonb »

Hello. I installed TOS 5 to drive 1 (F2-223).I then put in drive 2 (NTFS) that has media for my Emby server. I now understand that to make the drive accessible I have to create a volume on drive 2, that will delete all the files. How can I get around this? I simply cannot delete all my media.

thanks, Bj

The disks to be placed in TNAS must be formatted in TOS format before they can be used.
You can only find a way to back them up to other devices or disks.

You could use a USB caddy. That should accept NTFS format. Get a second drive for the NAS and install, if necessary. Copy data from USB to NAS. It may well take a while, but (at least) you retain your data copy on the NTFS disk as a backup.
