we had a power cut and the NAS was shutdown. I restarted it and I can access the files on it via the network. When I go to the web panel I see the log in screen, but whenever I try to log in I'm either directly taken back to the log in screen or I see a time out message.
How Do I get back in?

Please restart several times, if the problem persists, the system file may be corrupted, you can try to reinstall the TOS. In addition, it may be related to the fact that you are using an incompatible version of TOS5, if your system partition "/" is only 2GB in capacity, it is recommended to install TOS5.1.24 instead of using a later version.

thanks, will give that a try. I'm definitely running the right version as I never updated beyond 5.1.24
