Basic Usage

Post by datahorder »

If I want to use my NAS for backups and syncs, how would I best do that?

I noticed there's the Admin and appdata folder. Which folder do you upload your files to?

The Snapshot app had me a bit puzzled because it only takes snapshots of the appdata and public folder. Then it occurred to me that maybe it's most useful if one puts their files in the appdata folder and work out of that folder. Is that the intended use?

Does anyone have a backup and sync software that they like to use for Macs? I wanted to use TimeMachine but I can't browse through the snapshots manually because it's being saved on btrfs instead of APFS.

The "user", "public", "appdata" are system default shared folders. You can create more folders by your own.
