Since you guys are in favor of FileZilla, I installed FileZilla on my windows laptop. The error message I got is
"Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server"
I think I input IP address incorrectly. Now I can use SFTP by FilleZilla from my windows laptop. I will come back to update when I can not SFTP access the server again. I could not try FilleZilla from my Android phone sine FileZilla does not have Android version.

After few hours, when I tried SFTP connecting again (via FillZilla), I got this error message. "yyyy" is the user name I set, and "@XXX.XX.X.X" is my IP address. My IP address have not changed since I got this NAS a month ago.

Status: Connecting to XXX.XX.X.X:21...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=11
Command: open "[email protected]" 21
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Connecting to XXX.XX.X.X:21...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=11
Command: open "[email protected]" 21
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server

Maybe you need to check whether SFTP is enabled in Control Panel--File Service--FTP, maybe the port of SFTP is not 21 but 9333.

It is enabled. As I said the issue is SFTP (from being accessible) becoming unable to connect after few hours or even half hour. Is there any setting that let this product automatically turn off SFTP? It is not the issue with the SFTP clients, since I have tried three of them, on android device and on windows laptop. TNAS mobile is always working, so the internet is fine. My fix right now is to restart the NSA, but why I need to restart time after time every day?

I don’t know if the automatic connection of the client is caused by the configuration settings. Can you disconnect the previous SFTP connection and delete all the previous configurations, and then re-establish the connection task? Or ,uninstall and reinstall the Android app.

Is there anywhere I can see from where the connections are from, if these are some connections I am not aware of ? Why your suggestion is uninstall and reinstall the Andriod SFTP clients. As I said, I tried two different Android SFTP clients apps and tried FileZilla on windows laptop, and I got the same issue. TNAS mobile is an Android app, it runs without any issue.

I don't what you tried to say. Is there anywhere I can see from where the connections are from, if these are some connections I am not aware of ? I disable a lot of servers to test the SFTP: SMB, AFP, NFS, MYSQL Server, FTP. Try SFTP every several hours. It has been good for about 20 hours, before I had the same SocketTimeoutException thing.
