Connect F4-423 to NUC

Hello, i just bought the F4-423 NAS.

I already have a NUC with better specs comparing to the NAS.

NUC i7 11gen +32GB RAM +1TB Nvme M.2

I want to create the storage with some OS like FreeNAS or unRAID, my question is if its posible to connect the NAS to this OS via lan with a switch, because i prefer to use other OS and i dont want to install any OS on the NAS because my NUC is much better.

Is there anyway to make this? or do i need to create the storage with the NAS OS and then connect it to other OS like freenas or unraid.

I want to run docker containers like Plex to stream multimedia and this OS´s are so fast for this...

I see there is a plugin on unraid to mount remote storages via LAN, so this is the thing i was looking for, if anyone here is in my conditions, the plugin in unraid is called unassigned devices.
