I am moving all of my data off my NAS ahead of re-installing. I am running ToS 5.133
I am moving it by mapping a drive from Windows 11.
I have moved around 1TB off my NAS.
In Windows 11. My Mapped drive no longer shows the files and folders I have moved.
In File Manager on the NAS the folder size has decreased and I no longer see the moved files.
In ToS if I look at the volume view then it is saying that the volume free space has not changed. It started around 326GB and it's still at that same size.
My expectation is that I should have moved from 326GB free to 1326GB free.
My folder share does not have the recycle bin turned on.
I assume that I am overlooking something. What else might be stopping the volume free space from changing? Is this about File Snapshots, Data Scrubbing or something else ?

In addition to the recycle bin, you also need to check the file system snapshot in the backup of the TOS desktop. You can delete your file system snapshot and take a new one.

Re: Deleting files is not changing free space on Volume
Today i've checked under Backup > File System Snapshot and this is not enabled but under snapshot list there are two snapshots listed from 5th May. This might be when I installed ToS 5.1.
I am logged in as the superuser.
I have used the delete button against the individual rows and the delete all option to try to remove both snapshots. ToS reports "Operation Successful" but the snapshots are still shown in the list.
I then go out of the Snapshot application and back into it again. The Snapshots are still present....
So it seems that my superuser is unable to delete the file system snapshots.
An observation is that the "Version" column of the snapshot list seems stange, i.e. on my system for the first entry it says "GMT+8-2023.05.09.05.00.00." Should the "Version" field be storing date/time information? It could be said that this shows when the snapshot was taken but the next column over is a date / time field so that feels redundant. I'd assume the version of the first snapshot would be "1" or something similar.

Re: Deleting files is not changing free space on Volume
Deleting a snapshot takes a long time, please be patient and wait for a few hours, or check again another day.

Re: Deleting files is not changing free space on Volume
Thank you for clarifying.
If the snapshot deletion takes hours then why is ToS reporting, "Operation Successful" almost immediately after I click delete?
A couple of days later and the snapshots are still listed and the volume size has not changed.
I'm pretty sure that clicking "Delete" is not actually doing anything to the snapshots.

Re: Deleting files is not changing free space on Volume
There may be file system problems or other factors that prevent you from deleting snapshots. You may need to ask our engineers to check for you to find out the specific reason. You can make an appointment through the technical support mailbox or the customer service window on the home page of the pipe network.

Re: Deleting files is not changing free space on Volume
Thank you for your response. I've continued to find other issues since I last contacted you, i.e. my SuperUser is not able to create folders.
In the background i'm busy moving all the data (or as much as I can get to) off my NAS to backup drives so that I can wipe the NAS drives and start from scratch on a fresh ToS 5.1 install.
I'd be interested to know if anyone else is finding that volume size is not decreasing when files are removed from the system?
