Hey
I have a F5-221 that seems to be at 5.1.x something (more on that below)
It boots, then for a small while (we're talking minutes, if not seconds) the samba shares are accessible from my windows PC on the network
but quite soon enough it's not anymore. same for TNAS PC app discovery, it won't find the NAS (but used to !)
Also, TOS web interface seems unreachable anymore (which makes it hard to activate SSH or download a config backup, both of which seem to be prelimenary steps of many ways to fix issues here and there indicated on the forum).
It's at TOS 5.1.xyz, I don't know where to find the XYZ subversion as the nas is not reachable by both web and TNAS pc app interface => any help ?
Plugging the nas through HDMI made some interesting logs showing the cpu is overloaded by tasks and tries killing some to gain some memory back
for example it seems to kill the smbd process, which I guess would explain why nas contents aren't accessible anymore throught windows explorer.
Any way, some questions :
based on this description, what issue would you say it is ?
- Brts filescan at startup lasting days and days ?!
- latest update crash during process, screwing up TOS ?
- ... ?
What would be the best course of action to fix this ? Should I download latest TOS version (5.1.34 ?) and try to install it with the no-hdd-bootup-then-add-them-back-once-powered-up trick ? what would I lose doing so ?
Thanks for the help

Also, forgot to mention: for the small time I can access TOS, no desktop icons (therefore unable to activate SSH or dump system configuration backup file)

May I know what are you running on the device? Please note that your memory is almost exhausted. This could be the reason that your device stops to respond.

You can check it at TOS>ControlPanel>ResourceMonitor>Process, then sort by CPU or RAM to know the usage.

As I wrote inside my posts, the issue is precisely that I can't reach TOS anymore
Please read my post

I want to know whether your device system is upgraded from TOS4 to TOS5? You can read this link: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=4655, it may solve your problem.
