Hello! Updated TNAS 2-223 from 5.1.33 to 5.1.34.
Multimedia server stopped working. For example, when I try to open a multimedia file for viewing from VLC media player, the UPnP protocol player does not show anything. In the server log message 2023/05/08 10:10:33,"upnp http.c:1435","warn","Client tried to specify transfer Mode as Streaming with an image!" (deleting and reinstalling Multimedia server does not help). What to do? How to restore Multimedia server operation? Help!

Tested again to update F4-220 from 5.1.33 to 5.1.34, now it works. This time a did not wait the 5 min countdown, close the browser and wait a hour before accessing the TNAS. Maybe a bad timing that the 5 min restart ends up in bootloader.

@kg223: Try to rebuild the media index.

Currently reinitialising to 5.1.33, waiting for this one to re-sync now it would seem .....
Note to self don't update the TOS software as it almost never ends well.

Always used to say the same, but it's always a case of maybe the next update will fix everything! ;)

Does it appear "Loading..., please wait!" or a white screen when accessing the web? We noticed that this happens because the btrfs-transaction and btrfs-cleaner process has been busy cleaning up file system data when the system restarts, taking up a lot of CPU resources and causing you to fail to load the page when you log in. We don't yet know exactly what is causing the process to keep busy. It can last for hours if you want to wait for it to be finished.

May I ask if you have enabled the "file system snapshot", and if you have a lot of snapshots? Have you deleted snapshots or deleted data in large quantities recently?
Is your storage pool newly created in TOS 5, or was it created in 4.2? The additional information you provide will greatly help us find the cause of the problem. Thanks!
Was a white screen with a "Loading..., please wait!" message. File System Snapshot was enabled, I normally keep around 50. Storage pool was created before TOS 5.

Have a F4-423. The device was previously running 5.1.33 and recently upgraded to 5.1.34 to see if this would help improve SMB transfer rate. I have had the system for just over a year and started with v5.0. However, SMB has always seemed quite slow and never improved over the many updates. I have bonded the two Ethernet ports back when I first got the system thinking that this may help to have 2gb over one 1gb connection and both are plugged into a switch.

Is anyone else seeing super slow SMB upload/download in this type of configuration (bonded Ethernet ports or not)? Would I be better to unbond the two Ethernet ports and see if things improve? Not sure how to best troubleshoot, but to copy over 80 small files (50mb total) from a Mac to the TNAS over SMB took over 30 minutes to finish.

I would have assumed that SMB (used by nearly all OSes) would be something that I would have seen improvements over time. Maybe it is just me.

I always keep my TNASs up to date and updated to 5.1.34 yesterday without any issues. Maybe I'm just a light tnas user. 50mb taking 30 minutes which could be something wrong, with my 1G network and wi-fi 6 router I can reach about 40MB speed.

I am also having this same issue, Multimedia server wont stream anything even after full index rebuild.

1. Updated to 5.1.34...on F5-221
2. Has set at "Loading..,Please wait!" for 14 hours and then the disks stopped making noise.
3. Refreshing page after clearing cache did not change anything.
4. Powered down the system and it rebooted and is doing the same thing.

Whose brilliance is behind this spaghetti code?

Upgraded from 4.2.x to 5.1.x couple weeks ago and decided to upgrade from 5.1.33 to this disaster.

Is the only solution moving forward to wipe 5.1.34 and go back to 5.1.33 ?

Do you all test this before releasing it?
