Model F4-220
I updated TOS over the weekend to 4.2.28-2201191742-P1.31
First Plex keeps losing the server and seeing it as a new one. I've rebuilt the libraries twice and it happened again.
Now, three of my most important share folders show up as empty. The total storage size in TOS indicates these folders still have content somewhere. In Plex, when it is working, I can still see the missing content under "md0". It should be under "md1." I am able to view my photos and videos through Plex but the folders are empty on SMB/FTP and TOS file explorer.
Storage Volume #1
2x 6TB drives RAID (11 shared folders)
The three empty folders now think they are on Volume #2
Storage Volume #2
2x 8TB drives RAID (1 shared folder)
Files hidden in TOS File Explorer and SMB, still visible by Plex
Re: Files hidden in TOS File Explorer and SMB, still visible by Plex
This sounds similar to behavior I'm seeing. It's like the system root that was on Volume 1 is now looking at the Volume 2, and created empty folders on the second volume. All my data is still on Volume 1, but the home directory of my user and my samba shares started pointing to the other volume. But I didn't upgrade TOS, though I did install a larger hard drive and expand Volume 1.

I think it's fixed - I followed the instructions in this thread to resolve:

Re: Files hidden in TOS File Explorer and SMB, still visible by Plex
Thank you, the permissions are correct and I've tried restore shared folders to volume 1
It does seem the shared folder/volume location might be where the issue is. Even though Volume #2 is the larger drive RAID, I haven't used it other than Dropbox/Box syncing - besides that it is mostly empty. The shared folders with the missing content lists Volume #2 as their location - this is incorrect. It seems restoring to Volume #1 should fix this but it does not.

Restoring to Volume #2 doesn't work either. I will reach out for remote support session.
I believe I fixed the Plex server issue. It was losing the server on every restart of the NAS. I manually installed the latest PMS build from Plex's website and it works perfectly.
