Hello all.
I just read the desaster messages about the update when having Virtual Box installed.
For me it is no problem to uninstall VirtualBox before the update to 4.2.28
The question is: Is this all than is needed?? Or do I have to remove certain files to ensure the NAS does not see anything left from Virtual Box.
Secondly. Can I install VirtualBox after the TOS update or do I need to wait for an VirtualBox update.
Thanks
TOS update F5-420 4.2.28 and Virtual Box
Re: TOS update F5-420 4.2.28 and Virtual Box
Hello Bernhard.Wuest,
I had tested different scenarios on Friday for this. Even if you install Virtuel Box only after the TOS 4.2.28 patch, it comes to the serious crash. So it doesn't matter which way around. Never install Virtual Box and TOS 4.2.28 together !
We will have to wait for an update of either Virtual Box or TOS.
With kind regards
gretor

Coming back to the first part of the question:
Is it ok to uninstall VirtualBox and then update the firmware or are there additional steps necesarry.
Thanks

I had not tested this circumstance yet. I believe that it works. But I can not say it 100%.

Well,
thanks but not really helpful. I would like to know if it is safe to update when Virtual Box is uninstalled actually.
Not sure is the answer I already gave to myself, that's why I thought lets ask the professionals
Obviously no one from TerraMaster likes to answer.
Gretor thanks for your answers anyway.
THanks

Hi,
You can update VirtualBox before updating the system.
Or uninstall VirtualBox and then update the system, and then manually install VirtualBox in the update instructions after the update.

Hi,
Yes. I uninstalled VirtualBox and then upgraded the firmware.
Havent reinstalled VirtualBox yet as I am not using it frequently.
