Can't Access Control Panel's Network Services or Security as Admin

Post by Oddball »

I haven't used my TerraMaster F4-210 in months. As of a few days ago, I had it on daily to work with some stored data.

Just today I decided to make it more secure by configuring it for intranet (internal to LAN) use only, and realized that even though I'm logged in as the admin (which was another thing I wanted to change) through the "[IP address]/tos/index.php" browser view, when I went to the TNAS Control Panel, I could see but not access the Network Services nor Security menus. The other menu sections in the Control Panel would open up when I clicked on them, but not those two.

I also noticed constant "TLS Hand Shake ublock-referer.dev" notices in the lower corners, and tried switching from Firefox to Chrome, set the proxy in the browser to auto, created new profiles etc, to no avail.

Also would get several "90% CPU utilization exceeded" type of notices from the TNAS while interacting with it.

I'm assuming in could all be interrelated, but really don't know. Just really stumped why I can not access the Network and Security menus as the admin when the other menus open ok.

Any ideas very appreciated!

Model: F4-210
TOS Version: 4.1.32-2008031214

When I select "Apply" to the Online Update, nothing happens.

I'm a little hesitant trying the manual update. Involves more reading and prep etc... I come across lots of gripes about it. Guess I gotta take the plunge though...

Thanks

Also the "TOS 4.2.17 is released for update!" post notes,

"Important Notes
1. This update is only for TOS 4.2.01 or later versions. If your TOS is 4.1.27 or an earlier version, please refer to here."

My version is 4.1.32-.... This is after 4.1.27, but before 4.2.01.

As I'm in outside the effective range of either version in the notes, it appears 4.2.17 upgrade is not for my version? or should I still upgrade to it?

Your linked prodedure didn't really address this, but Can I perform a reinstall with my drives ejected? Then after I get back to the TNAS screen, insert them back in to be detected? Just leery about possible comprises to my hard drive data, thanks!

Followed the steps through step 4. Nothing happens when I click "apply" after selecting Restore to Factory Default.

I did get a "CPU utilization 90% exceeded" a bit after that though. Not really the cookie I was hoping for lol...
