Try to disable and enable again the SMB file service on control panel file service settings, and try again.
if you have set firewall rules on TNAS admin control panel, recheck your rules and make sure no rule going to block yourself from visiting your TNAS.

it seam your system partions are full, no configuaration can be written into the system.
how about other application? all application fails to be installed?

This application is running at backend, whick supports you modify a text file. so you will not have a icon on your desktop.
