Re: How to fix a faulty USB initBoot for your TNAS?(x.86)

Is that mess of a post expected to be coherent? It's not provided as a .img because the initboot accepts that file format for updating the bootloader when initializing a TNAS offline. Differentiating it by having a separate creation process is likely a preventative measure for the above as well as ...

Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

TRAID is new, as in experimental or unstable? This has been a flaghsip feature in all their marketing and product documentation. QED: https://www.terra-master.com/us/terramaster-traid Unless Terra-Master is lying...? They're even launching TRAID + in TOS6! Why would they launch a plus version if th...

With TRAID being so new, haven't used it on any TNAS, and with these kind of issues being related to it, will continue to avoid it.

It's unfortunate that the experience isn't the same as choosing any of the RAID options, yet.

It's present in TOS 5.1.× builds, possibly earlier as well.

It's under Control Panel Storage Pool; select the pool you'll be scrubbing & under the last icon (far right) on the 5 icon bar, data scrubbing is available.

Re: Limit Remote Access by User?

If you are using a common folder or individual/separate folders (not home folders) for these backups per user, you can limit the IP address ranges that are allowed to access the folder under the SMB tab when you edit the shared folder; essentially limit it to your home network address range(s) for w...

Re: TOS 5.1.131 (X86) is Released for Update

May I ask if compatibility issues have been checked? Compatibility list: https://www.terra-master.com/global/compatibility/ It's compatible; the drive was used as the SSD cache on TOS 4.× builds; it was secure erased prior to trying to add it & has been repeatedly between attempts to add Hyperc...

Re: TOS 5.1.131 (X86) is Released for Update

F4-220 & Hypercache still doesn't work. Two builds in a row, 5.1.123 & this one ; the wizard starts to configure it, but after 80% , it just disappears. Tried all the wizard's options, none work. Have had to SSH to secure erase the SSD multiple times because it fails to do so through TOS UI,...

It shouldn't, but making a full backup as a precaution should be a priority before this hardware transition.

Re: From D2-310 to D8hybrid

have 2HDDs in my D2-310 setup in RAID1. bought the new D8hybrid, would like to move the 2HDDs from d2-310 to d8 without losing 2HDD data? Both use the same USB to SATA bridge chip (ASM1352R) , so yes it should be possible to transfer the drives between them, but you specifically have to use the fir...

Re: F2-423 Using the M.2 slots for Coral AI

Hopefully someone from their engineering team can provide a definite answer to this inquiry. You should be able to install the Coral device (there's no way to hold it in place since those slots are designed for 80mm cards, so hopefully you find a way to retain it there) & as long as the Linux ke...
