Re: From D2-310 to D8hybrid
have 2HDDs in my D2-310 setup in RAID1. bought the new D8hybrid, would like to move the 2HDDs from d2-310 to d8 without losing 2HDD data? Both use the same USB to SATA bridge chip (ASM1352R) , so yes it should be possible to transfer the drives between them, but you specifically have to use the fir...

Re: F2-423 Using the M.2 slots for Coral AI
Hopefully someone from their engineering team can provide a definite answer to this inquiry. You should be able to install the Coral device (there's no way to hold it in place since those slots are designed for 80mm cards, so hopefully you find a way to retain it there) & as long as the Linux ke...

Re: TOS5 (and maybe 6) system partition
… plan is, when TOS 6 comes out, to wipe the NAS 100%. System and Raid and rebuild. Once there's a stable non-beta TOS 6 build , there'll be a .INS to do a fresh installation either manually or via direct Internet download from Terra-Master servers in the initialization boot , which would partition...

Re: TOS5 (and maybe 6) system partition
It installs to each HDD. There's a forthcoming feature in TOS 6 that'll let you choose to only install the system to a designated drive, however it's currently not available.
The internal USB drive is purely for initial booting; it contains nothing but a script.

Re: TOS 4.2.44 is Released for Update
appreciate that my NAS is no longer on general sale, however it still has a number of issues ranging from very minor cosmetic issues (like showing the wrong time zone region during DST), to more serious flaws (like the built in file manager renaming files and folders without prompting). From what I...

Re: New NVME compatibility Chart
All bare NVMe drives that can run @ PCIe Gen3 ×1 should be compatible , however there's a height restriction due to the aluminum case of the 223/423 series (the newer 424 series models are plastic, which could be even more of an issue for passing through the heat), so nothing with an integrated hea...

Re: VirtualBox no USB
It's been over 7 months since this thread started and there's been no movement on this inquiry.
If you actually require passthrough & don't care for TOS, just install proxmox on the ×86 TNAS (remove the internal USB initboot drive) since that supports USB passthrough to VMs.

Re: D5 300c (single mode) won't let me copy between disks
… shame you cant just download it and do it yourself to save everyone time … It's been previously mentioned that there are multiple revisions of the D5-300C which use different firmware & even some that cannot be updated, so Terra-Master is very careful with firmware updates around the blanket ...

Re: Installiing Openmediavault on F4-423
As long as you've updated the UEFI on your 423 to the latest @ https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=4238&p=30399#p30399, you should be able to change the boot order to facilitate using an alternate OS (though you should remove the internal USB initboot drive to really preve...
