Re: [Help] Macs running Tahoe 26.2 cannot backup to TNAS
Hi, sorry for the delay, but I have been experimenting. Yes, both Macs can use go->contact to server to successful mount any shared folder in the F4-425 (for example smb://DaisyDisk.local/Jon) Thay can both read and write successfully to the mounted folders. After advice from TNAS support, I turned ...

[Help] Macs running Tahoe 26.2 cannot backup to TNAS
I have an F4-425 running TOS 6.0.794-01324 I have three Macs, which previously have been backing up to the TimeMachine service (Bonjour/SMB) without issues. I upgraded two Macs to OS 26.2 (the latest version of Tahoe) and since then the backups fail on these two Macs Looking at the Mac's Console log...

Fan setting not applied after restart
I have a F4-210 (TNAS-3E45) running TOS version 4.2.31 In Settings -> Hardware & Power -> Hardware, I have set my fan to 'Low speed' because I use SSDs that do not generate much heat. However, when the device restarts, the fan runs fast. If I access Settings -> Hardware & Power -> Hardware, ...

Re: F2-210 whistling/whining
Hmmm, pretty much any component (down to a loose solder joint) can make a noise if it resonates. The sound is very high pitched and very directional, so I suspect that constructive/destructive interference is playing a part. I tried tamping the SSDs with BluTac to make sure that they can’t vibrate, ...

Re: F2-210 whistling/whining
Thanks — I’ve done that. It’s quite hard to capture, as the noise is very directional (possibly due to echos/reflections from the nearby walls)
I haven’t tried removing a disk, as they are part of a RAID 5 array, so I’m sure the machine would not run normally!

Re: F2-210 whistling/whining
Plus one here. I have a brand new F4-210 with three 2TB SSDs (Crucial BX500) so obviously disk vibrations are unlikely. The sound is like a dog-whistle — almost too high-pitched to hear, but deafening nonetheless. Being in the same room as it gives me tinnitus! I hope this is a fixable problem, as i...
