[Help] My new D2-320 won't work in jbod or any raid

Hello,
I just bought a D2-320 and I'm having issues getting jbod mode to work.

My setup:
terraMaster D2-320
2x WD Red 4TB (WD40EFZZ) - brand new disks
Connected via USB 3.2 to Intel NUC (Proxmox) and also tested on Linux laptop
Original power supply and USB C cable

So in single mode one disk is detected correctly, green LED, in jbod mode disks are not detected, both leds stay orange (not blinking) and reset button seems to have no effect, I hold it for 5+ seconds but nothing changes. disks spin up when usb is connected (I can hear them), but system doesn't see them in jbod mode and the disks lights stay orange

I already trying switching to jbod, pressing reset for 5-10 seconds - no change, then power cycling the device multiple times, reseating both disks, swapping disk positions (bay 1 and bay 2), different thunderbolt ports and simple usb c port on my laptop, so also tried on different computers (my home server intel nuc and my laptop). RAID 0 and RAID 1 modes, same issue, only single works

Is this a defective unit? Is there a different reset procedure I should try?
Thank you for your help

Hello, for the RAID switching of the D2-320 device to take effect, it must first be connected to a computer via a USB cable, with both the computer and the device powered on. If the desired RAID type cannot be created after connection, it is possible that the RAID switching button is faulty.

@TMjack Thanks for answering.

I think the knob it's fine, otherwise why it could switch lights from green to orange?

I always did all tests while it was connected to the pc

Hello! Could you please try installing a healthy hard drive in the DAS device to verify whether the read and write functions of HDD1 and HDD2 slots work normally in the independent working state.
If both slots are in normal condition, we recommend eliminating the possibility of hard drive faults or compatibility issues.

@TMLila as I said in the original messages both drives are brand new, just unpacked them. I tried to switch them between bay 1 and 2 and as single they get recognized correctly

Please try to follow the steps below:

Set the knob pointer to SINGLE mode.
Press and hold the Reset button for about 5 seconds until the hard drive indicator light changes from green to red.
After about 1 second, the hard drive indicator light will change from red back to green. Then, turn the knob to your desired array type.
Press and hold the Reset button for about 5 seconds until the hard drive indicator light changes from green to red.
After about 2 seconds, when the hard drive indicator light changes from red back to green, it indicates that the array creation is complete.

If following the above steps and the indicator light does not change when adjusting the knob pointer, the knob may be faulty. Please record an operation video and your purchase order information, and send them to our technical support email ([email protected]). We will arrange for a sales colleague to follow up on this matter. Please include the link to this post in the body of the email.
