Hi,
after setting up the new NAS (F2-425+, TOS7 latest build) today was the first day I used MP3tag (MP3 tag utility on OSX) to check all files were good. On the main window I saw missing info on one file whose title is "Track. Title" and, as it is an Italian song, title finishes with the extended char à. I did a copy of the file and renamed it substituting à with a simple a and MP3tag (tried with Music Tag Editor 5 too) is able to access tags:


OSX Finder also seems to have some problems with extended chars:


Shares are SMB mounted: SMB settings on TOS are:




Just to exclude MP3 utilities from the variables, I copied the "à" file on local disk and they can read tags.

Almost two months and the same problem is still there, no feedback, no requests or questions...are you really working on the issue?

This issue is typically caused by SMB character encoding compatibility problems. If the Mac special character conversion mechanism (VFS module) in TOS is not enabled or is misconfigured, file names or tags may not be recognized correctly.

We recommend enabling “Enable the VFS module to convert Mac special characters”, (Enabling the VFS module to convert Mac special characters requires that the "Allow symbolic links in shared folders" feature be enabled simultaneously.), applying the settings, and then restarting the SMB service (if the issue persists, please restart the NAS device). After that, disconnect and remount the NAS shared folder on macOS to ensure the new character encoding settings take effect.

If the issue still persists, we recommend arranging a one-on-one remote session with our engineer for further troubleshooting.

Not it is enabled, I rebooted NAS too, but the problem is still there:



Using internal TOS terminal I just copied "06..." to "Prova.mp3" and you can see there are no problems with the file itself.
