[Help] F6-424 early setup to JBOD not working

Hi,

I have an issue driving me crazy:
I launched my TNAS with 4x12tb disks and was not offered the setup choice and ended up on TRAID.

I want it on JBOD and I have been going through help pages and YouTube and nothing seems to work.

Now my NAS is stuck rebuilding for hours when I can't change the RAID settings or remove volumes or disks or whatever: I have a NAS.

I am on TOS 6 with a Mac and nothing seems to work and enable me to stop volume rebuilding or storage pool changes or volume removal. I need help please.

On the initialization page, if you do not select a custom storage pool array type, the default will be TRAID mode. When the volume starts rebuilding, it cannot be manually stopped on the page for data security reasons. If you have not stored any data on the hard drive, you can power off, remove the hard drive, manually format it, and then reinstall the system while selecting JBOD mode. If you are unable to format the hard drive individually, you can go to the official website's live chat to schedule an engineer to remotely assist you in manually stopping and deleting the current array through the terminal.

I feel your frustration, @ryushenkitano. Getting stuck in a rebuild loop right after unboxing is stressful. Did the suggestion from support work for you? I'm curious if formatting the drives externally was the only way out, as I'm considering a similar setup with 4 drives on TOS 6.

If you can access the TOS web page smoothly, you can try selecting and setting up the storage pool, reducing the synchronization speed, and minimizing Disk IO usage. Then you should be able to edit and delete the volumes and storage pools that are being synchronized.
