Plex Media Server on TOS 7.0.299 - Real-time library updates not working

Hola a todos,

I am experiencing an issue with Plex Media Server on the new TOS 7 (v7.0.299) regarding the automatic detection of new content.

System Details:
  • NAS Model: F6-424 Max
  • TOS Version: 7.0.299
  • Plex Version: 1.112.0.359-0d79a49f (Installed via App Center)
The Issue:
Plex does not detect new files or changes within folders automatically. Even though the "Update my library automatically" setting is enabled in Plex, the server fails to trigger a scan when a new file is added to a monitored folder.

Key Observations:
  • Partial scans fail: Small changes or additions are completely ignored by the background filesystem watcher.
  • Full scan works: New elements only appear if I manually trigger a "Scan Library Files" or if a "Periodic Scan" runs.
  • Permissions: I have verified that the plex user has R/W permissions to the media folders.
It seems like the inotify (filesystem events) integration might be broken or limited in this specific build of TOS 7, preventing Plex from "hearing" when a file is added. This is a critical issue for the F6-424 Max as it forces us to perform manual library updates constantly.

Is anyone else experiencing this on TOS 7? Any suggestions on a fix or if this is a known bug in the current release?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It might well be broken since TOS7 is BETA. Have you reported events to the Beta support email (PM@.....) as per the original instructions?

Hello!
You may visit the official Plex website to download and install the latest version of Plex Media Server, or try editing the media library settings in your current version to enable the "Real-time Scanning" feature. Please note that the scanning process may take a while, depending on the size of your media library, so please be patient.
Meanwhile, we have shared the issue you reported with our product team for verification. If an anomaly is confirmed, we will arrange a fix as soon as possible.Thank you for your understanding and support!

I have performed the following tasks.

- I updated Plex to the latest beta version available, and the problem persists. The version is: Version 1.43.0.10389
- I have verified that this only occurs when I add a new movie to an 80 TB volume, where I have a folder called "Movies" with around 8,100 files. I have other smaller volumes with fewer files, and if I add a new file to them, Plex detects it automatically.

Thank you for your feedback. It seems there is an issue with Plex scanning directories on large-capacity volumes. We will arrange for the testing team to further verify this problem.
